Swire Production Solutions (SPS) is a specialist service provider in the upstream oil and gas industry, providing floating production for medium sized oil fields and innovative marine solutions for stranded assets and marginal offshore fields. SPS undertakes design, engineering, procurement and installation activities, providing customers with turnkey, cost-effective solutions that minimise front-end risks for its clients.
SPS aims to take existing assets from the offshore or tanker sectors and convert them for production using modular systems that can be added or removed as required. SPS has designed a unique Floating Production Unit that can be used on an offshore support vessel, as well as designing Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessels based on all tanker sizes from a 35,000 DWT Handysize through to 140,000 DWT Suezmax. Working with our process partners at Dynamic Process Systems, we configure the FPSO according to the oil assay, met-ocean conditions and field requirements.
We can use either spread mooring, an external turret or an internal turret depending on the field conditions, water depth and number of risers. Water injection, gas lift and gas injection packages can be provided and we have designs for both dynamically positioned vessels and conventional hulls.
SPS' competitive advantage lies in its role as an integrator, taking the marine and production experience of the Swire Group and combining this with the deep specialist knowledge of our process, riser and turret design partners to offer cost effective, floating production to clients, backed by the strong balance sheet of the Group.
Well fluids are brought from the riser system to be processed on board, gas is flared for disposal or used for gas lift or export, and produced water is treated and discharged in an environmentally responsible manner, or re-injected as required. Stabilised crude oil is then pumped through an export system to an off-take tanker moored nearby, or is stored onboard if a tanker hull is used. All safety systems are integrated and enhanced to class requirements for a mobile offshore production facility. This processing and off-take design is more than adequate for stranded oilfields, whilst providing flexibility to upgrade when the oilfield is commercially viable. The Swire FPU design is derived from proven oilfield production systems employed by the company in the Gulf of Thailand and offshore Qatar and Iran.
In addition to the design and operation of Early Appraisal & Development Systems, Swire Production Solutions also provides project and marine management for mobile offshore production units and rig upgrades.
