HUD Marine

This 50:50 joint venture was established in 1972 by the merger of Swire's Taikoo Dockyard with Hutchison Whampoa's Hongkong & Whampoa Dock Company to form Hongkong United Dockyards. The HUD Group's Ship Repair Division is headquartered at Tsing Yi, in Hong Kong's New Territories, and its principal activities are ship repair and mechanical and electrical engineering services.

HUD Group offers one of Asia's most modern ship repair facilities, with large steel fabrication and heavy engineering workshops and sea walls capable of accommodating vessels with a draft of up to 12.5 metres.

The HUD Group's Engineering Division provides multi-disciplinary land-based mechanical and electrical engineering services and steelwork, ranging from fabrication and erection of steel structures and heavy industrial equipment, to installation and certification of both high and low voltage electrical systems.

The Company also operate a fleet of sophisticated harbour and ocean-going tugs.
